A message from WDTSEA President Bob Movrich.

Winter/Spring  2018

Hello again, Already looking forward to spring and our "64th Annual WDTSEA State Conference" April 6th & 7th, 2018, at the Chula Vista Resort, in the beautiful Wisconsin Dells.  A lot of planning and work has been done to provide our members with an outstanding program.  Someone said to me after last years conference, which he thought was very good, "that's going to be hard to beat."  Well I think we've done it!   We are bringing in three speakers who just recently presented at the 2017 ADTSEA National Conference out in Sacramento, California.  We are so lucky to have Professional Race Car driver and Traffic Safety expert Andy Pilgrim presenting two sessions.  His first session will be on "Autonomous Driving Vehicles" and "Advanced Vehicle Technologies." His second session, he will be introducing his new DVD, that he produced for classroom teachers.   Dr. Ann Shanahan, who also spoke out in Sacramento,  will lead off the conference and speak on "Students with Challenging Behaviors."  Our very own Nick Jarmusz, from "AAA" Wisconsin, will again provide up to date information on teen driving and programs offered by "AAA."  By the way, a huge shout out to "AAA" for they offered to donate a large sum of money to help sponsor our conference.  Thanks "AAA."  Our "Past President's", "Hall of Fame", "Teacher of the Year" and "Distinguished Service Award" luncheon will be special as always as we will be honoring some outstanding people dedicated to the profession of Traffic Safety and Driver Education.   After lunch we have two very special and extremely interesting presenters that you will really enjoy.  First Walt Brinker, from North Carolina, will present his "Roadside Survival" program.  Saw him out in Sacramento, he was very good.  Then to finish the day, "Fireman Dan" Schoonhoven, will speak on his experience of being a fireman and rescue personal and of the importance of wearing a seat belt.  Dan was highly recommended to us by several people at the ADTSEA conference.  At the Regional Meetings,  we will elect a new President Elect, Secretary, Northwest Delegate and Delegate at Large.  Please consider volunteering for one of these board positions.  Friday night is the "WDTSEA Social".  For $10.00, you get large quantities of Pizza, Salad, Beer and Soda.  Please support us at this fun relaxed evening.  Saturday morning will be "Teacher Presentations", which I really enjoy, "Teacher Licensing updates" with the lifetime licenses by Brian Dean, DPI. The "Future of WDTSEA" and the Fall Workshops by new WDTSEA President Kevin Kirby , and an ADTSEA update on "What's Going on at the National Level" by WDTSEA  and ADTSEA board member Karen Sorenson.  Please support WDTSEA. Send in your registration to Doug Coons and I look forward to seeing many of you in the Dells.

For any questions contact me at  Thanks again and keep it safe, Bob
